The original home was built in 1940. Lizabeth Scott purchased the home in 1950, and hired Robert Byrd to help renovate and maintain the quality and integrity of the home. Ms. Scott lived there until she passed away in 2015. Elvis Presley was a close friend and frequent visitor to the home. This was actually Lizabeth Scott's second Byrd home. She previously lived in a smaller Byrd home just down the street from this home. She was a true fan.
Many celebrities hired Robert and Gary Byrd to build their homes based on word of mouth. The Byrds did very little advertising.
Byrd was often available to work on his homes and provide advice. Once his father retired, Gary Byrd would step in and offer assistance.
